Where's the Beef?

Salutations, Dekaron!

Holy cow! The Black Metal Ox is fully upon us, along with a stampede of terrible cow puns. The new year might already be in full swing, but the Black Ox is now being served, fresh and rare, in the Platinum Box.

Our scaling experience event continues, and a couple of minor changes will hopefully make your Dekaron experience more convenient.

Accessory Enhancement

The accessory upgrade event rolls around once more. Aria in Ardeca is offering better upgrade rates and/or discounted material costs for select accessories and emblems. Upgrade now, or you’ll have to wait for the next one!

"Please direct all feedback to the hand."

The Green Road

By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes, ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road. Thankfully, the high and low roads are also green, and leading you to a 600% experience bonus from monster kills, for the whole week. By the bonnie banks o’ Lock Lomond, you’ll be at level 200 a’fore everyone.

The Exponential Growth Box makes an encore appearance, lining up with our biggest experience event in months. Who knows when the stars will align like this again? Best stock up and make the most of those sweet EXP gains, bro.

The Graces, Ocarina, and keys remain, by far, the top picks in our choice boxes, no matter what else we toss in there. The Two Moons Box removes the superfluous filler, but remains the same choice box you’re used to.

Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink boxes are strong sellers, and the Sandalwood Coffer continues the pattern, though you might be put off by the lack of absolute top-end items inside. But it has more generous odds than previous boxes, for the benefit of players trying to make the most of their DKC returns.

Instead, the choicest pickings are found in the Amaranth Coffer, which is only found inside the Sandalwood. High-rolling players can shoot for the Amaranth Coffer, or even seek it out on the secondary market.

Step two: Put your box in that box.

Have a cow, man. The Black Ox is now available inside Trieste’s Platinum Treasure Box, fresh from the pasture and with suspiciously similar stats to the Black Tiger.

This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?

Where’s the White Ox? It’s a little more well-done, so the chef says you’ll have to wait.

The Blocking Bijou 123 is the new kid on the block, here to liven up your block party. Do we need to spell it out for you in block letters?

Some of the items inside the Platinum Box have moved up or down, adjusting to changing values and supply on both servers. As of this update, the possible prizes inside the Platinum Box are arranged in order from rarest to most common, starting at the top. We try to keep to this convention with random boxes when we can, but last-minute changes sometimes mix things around.

DK Square Issues and Compensation

The crashing issue from the DK Square scoreboard has been fixed.

Players can no longer avoid the Raging penalty from quitting DK Square early by filling up on premium buff items. Raging's duration may not display if your premium buff slots are all filled, but the 20 minute penalty for desertion still applies.

The crash bug was due to back-end changes made to DK Square which weren't included in the update notes, so it slipped past our QA process. The second issue has been going on for a long time.

In either case, while we're pleased to have DK Square working properly, we feel an obligation to make it up to our players, on account of the severity of the first issue, and the resolution time of the second.

As such, from the time the server comes back online until Monday March 21st, the first character on any account who completes an entire DK Square match to victory or defeat will receive one Pumpkin Rune 1 Day Ex-Box in their mail (limited to one per account).

Bug Fixes & Notes

The buff items found in the Random Master Buff Box (purchasable from Ishtar in Ardeca for 30 Dragon Souls) and the Big Invigorating Powder from Trieste’s Platinum Treasure Box, now all stack up to 9999.

Ishtar has been the subject of criticism from customers who have found that the Master Dragon Necklace (A) cannot be upgraded to Legendary. To avoid confusion, the (A) version has been renamed the Scion’s Dragon Necklace. This necklace has the same stats as the Master Dragon Necklace, but no minimum level requirement.

Thanks, and see you in Trieste!
