As Halloween ends, so begins the sensory overload of the holiday season, and Ardeca is no exception. We’re starting the season with our Black Friday sale by featuring five brand-new items in the DShop. And if you’re too wiped out from filling everyone else’s stocking, or too much of a Scrooge to buy what you could earn for yourself, the newly-refurbished Crespo’s Treasure Hard Mode is paying out to adventurers of all budgets.
Crespo’s Treasure (Hard) Renewal
The ruined subterranean fortress beneath Crespo was built amidst a river of flowing lava - quite warm and cozy, especially now that the weather is getting colder. And Hard mode is the best place to farm up materials for those Tier 3 Nexus helms. So why aren’t we getting more visitors? Probably something to do with the abysmal drop rates and long run times. And escalating entry fees. To say nothing of the insufferable Disco Hallway of Death.
I get low and I get high, and if I can't get either, I really try
With the latest classic dungeon face-lift, drops have been boosted, large sections of the dungeon have been pruned, and the disco traps have gone the way of, well… disco.
Bee Gee free
Overall, the new Crespo’s Treasure (Hard) has an estimated run time of about 20 minutes (down from 30). Entry still requires a dungeon ticket, but the DIL cost for successive daily runs has been slashed.
The materials for the Nexus helm (Condensed Fire, Enchanted Plate, and Arcadian Gold Dust) have had their drop rates increased as part of the renewal. But materials will now appear at a fixed rate, whereas until now they appeared less often for smaller-sized parties. Now parties of any size will all receive the same drops.
The drop rate of complete Nexus helms is still a function of party size, with larger parties seeing more helms dropping, but they will now appear much more often for parties of any size.
I couldn't get enough, so I had to self-destruct
Iyad’s daily quest has been re-tuned along with the dungeon to be more generous, in terms of Condensed Fire and complete Nexus helms.
Young man, are you listening to me?
However, this isn’t a completely free ride! Some monster packs are denser, meteor traps have been added, and all monsters – minions and bosses – have been given a bit of a boost to offense and defense. You’ll still need to earn those MC3’s, but your trial will now be shorter, fiercer, and hopefully more exciting.
This Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, and we spent some time spitballing ideas for sale items. The results are some brand-new, never-before-seen DShop offers. Buy, Felicia!
Why is this Big Red Box so angry? Maybe because it’s stuffed to bursting with Mitera’s Anger Fragments? Unless it’s not, in which case we recommend that the Big Angry Red Box seek anger management therapy.
Being stuffed with Mitera’s Insanity Fragments isn’t likely to drive anyone insane, so we don’t have any idea what is going on with the Big Insane Red Box. Perhaps the insanity is that, despite a lower floor for rewards, for the same price, the jackpot is higher. You might go insane trying to figure out the math on that.
If you’re a pet-seeker, then the Critter Gitter Box is what you’ve been waiting for. The price is a little more dear than past pet boxes, but the odds for top-tier pets can’t be matched anywhere else. Once you have your pet of choice, the Soul Chain will let you get it to just the right stats, and either of the two Ocarina will let you enjoy your companion's company for as long as you’d like.
If you already have the pet you want, but it's just not feeling that swagger, you’re likely to pull something useful out of the Stylish Pet Accessory Box. And if the prize you get just isn’t meshing with your pet’s style, most of these pet stones haven’t been available in ages, if ever, so there’s a good chance you’ll find a buyer. If your entire menagerie is in need of some bling, you can buy this box in packs of ten, and only be charged for nine.
Our last offer will catch your interest if you’re feeling the blues about the end of fishing season. You could reel in most of the prizes in the Tackle Box yourself, but not everyone has that kind of time. If the creep of winter isn’t enough to keep you from spinning a line, the introduction of the advanced Casting Bijou might just bait you into opening a few of these. And it’s so compact that we can offer a great deal on 10-packs – ten for the price of eight.
Bugs & Fixes
Sotzius, the resident blacksmith in Dravice Village, will now exchange your tradable Gold Dragon Spirit Shards for binded ones. You can trade 300 shards for a Gold Dragon Scale Belt, but Sotzius will only accept 300 of the same type (binded or non-binded). This allows players with a mix of shards to convert all of them to binded, so they can be exchanged for the belt.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip
The 7-day Treasure Hunter Rune received from Attendance Rewards now functions properly. Those of you who already claimed the rune but missed out due to the bug will receive replacements with next week's patch.
Thanks, and see you in Trieste!
